I also wish that Apple would implement more advanced display tech. Last year, I imagined that the mini-LED display used in the iPad Pro in 2021 and 2022 would be a great step up for the Air. It wouldn’t be as good as the tremendous OLED screen in the iPad Pro, but it would still offer HDR and significantly increased brightness and contrast. Alas, we’re stuck with a plain old LCD again this year. Again, that’s mostly fine, but playing games like Control made me wish for more contrast, and movies do not have nearly the same visual pop on the Air as they do on the Pro.
Additional clarification regarding TapType's nature: it doesn't display keys. No traditional visual keyboard renders on screens. The gesture layer and drag-to-type functionality – present for accuracy-prioritized situations – operate entirely through X/Y coordinates with independent TTS and gesture handling. The keyboard understands spatial arrangements. It announces contents. It manages interactions. Visual representation remains minimal because visual representation isn't the objective. I'm not building keyboards for visual users. I'm creating spatial keyboard models for tactile and audio navigation, with minimal visual appearance representing intentional design rather than implementation deficiency.
